Shasta Women’s Refuge provides confidential services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking at no cost. We assist all victims of domestic violence and sexual assault regardless of age, gender, race, or sexual preference, etc. 

 

Contact us: Our main objective is to provide victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault with emotional support and the resources needed for safety. Our Client Services office is available Monday through Friday for walk–in appointments, and is located at 2280 Benton Drive Bldg. A Redding, Ca. Crisis services are available to victims 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through our toll-free hot lines:

Crisis Intervention: We provide peer counseling and support, education about domestic violence and sexual assault, resources and referrals, and develop personalized safety plans including providing emergency cell phones and assisting victims with entering Shelter. In addition, we are able to respond in person at the request of law enforcement or medical personnel on behalf of a victim.

 

Family Law Advocacy:  We assist clients with filing restraining orders, accompany them to court hearings, and are available for consult throughout the court process.  Upon client request, we also accompany clients through family court mediation (this request must be done in writing to the court).  We assist with custody/visitation orders only when addressed in conjunction with a restraining order.  We do not assist with any other custody/mediation issues, separation, divorce, property disputes or landlord/tenant issues but can provide referral information.   

 

Accompaniment:  We are available to accompany our clients to report to law enforcement, attend court and obtain medical care or other related appointments. All of our services are confidential and provided at no cost. Staff and volunteers working in Client Services have received a minimum of 66 hours of crisis intervention training specifically focused on domestic violence and sexual assault.
